Platform commission rates by service, hourly weekly settlement timing, multi-milestone payouts, and where to track everything.
Commission rates
Each service type can have its own commission rate. The admin team sets the percentage per service (Resume, Interview, On Job Support) and a separate rate for consultations. The rate that was active when an engagement was created is the rate that applies — admin changes don't retroactively change existing contracts.
Student fee
On top of your rate, students pay a 5% platform fee. So a $100 service costs the student $105. The 5% is Tutrx revenue; your earnings are calculated from the base rate minus our commission.
Hourly weekly settlement timing
When a student approves a weekly timesheet, their saved card is charged immediately. Tutrx then waits for the Stripe → bank payout (~T+2 business days) before firing your Wise transfer. This eliminates working-capital float — we only pay you once the funds are actually in our bank. The week shows 'Awaiting payout' with an expected arrival until then.
Multi-milestone fixed payouts
For multi-milestone fixed contracts, each milestone is funded by the student into Stripe escrow at the start of that stage. On approval, your share is released via Wise; Tutrx keeps the commission and student fee. Subsequent milestones repeat the cycle. The last approved milestone closes the engagement.
Single-payment fixed payouts
Single-payment fixed engagements hold the full escrow on acceptance. Each stage approval releases your share for that stage; the engagement is paid in full once all stages are approved.
Consultations
Consultations are pre-paid by the student at booking. Your share releases when the student confirms the session (or 24 hours pass). The consultation commission rate is separate from service rates and is set by admin.
Track everything
Performance Dashboard shows total earnings, monthly revenue trend, per-service earnings, and a row per booking/timesheet/milestone with payout status (Pending, Awaiting Settlement, Paid, Failed). The Earnings card on each service tab gives a quick at-a-glance view too.
