From accepting the booking to running the video call and getting paid — the consultation flow end to end.
Set up consultations in your service
Open the service builder and enable the Consultation step. Set duration (15/30/45/60 min), price (or Free), call type (video or chat), and pick available weekly time slots in your timezone. Save to publish.
Bookings show on your dashboard
When a student books a consultation, it appears under Booked Consultations on your Instructor Dashboard with date, time, and student details. Paid consultations are pre-paid via Stripe — the money is held until you complete the session and the student confirms.
Start the call
At session time, click 'Start Call' on the consultation row. The Zoom Video SDK room opens in a new tab — students click 'Join' on their end at the same time. Allow camera and microphone access, then run the session.
End the session
When you're done, click 'End Session' on the consultation card. Status moves to 'Pending Confirmation' and the student has 24 hours to confirm or report an issue.
Get paid
On student confirmation (or after the 24-hour auto-confirm), the platform releases your share to your Wise-linked bank account. Tutrx keeps the platform commission and the student fee. You'll see the consultation move from Active → Completed on your dashboard.
If the student reports an issue
The payout is paused while Tutrx support reviews. The session moves to 'disputed'. If the report is rejected, the payout proceeds normally; if a refund is approved, the student is refunded and no payout fires.
